Merry & Calm: Tips and Tricks for Hassle-Free Holiday Shopping
It’s official, we’ve had our first snowfall and frosty temperatures are here to stay! What does that mean? It’s time to start shopping, of course. The holiday season is always filled with joy, but often also brings a side of stress –all those presents to prepare for! So slip into your comfiest shoes, pack your patience, and head over to the nearest mall. If that sounds a whole lot like the routine you’re used to, maybe it’s time to switch it up this year. We have four tips to keep you calm while shopping this holiday season!
[C]lick & check out: skip the long line-ups and packed parking lots! Slip into something cozy and get gifts from the comfort of your home instead. Online shopping is a quick and easy way to get through your list, especially if you know what you loved ones want. And for those that you can’t quite seem to figure out, an Elmwood Spa e-gift card is always a good idea and only a click away!
[A]lways on Budget: count how much cash you’re willing to spend for each person on your list. You can arrange this in a hierarchy: the closer you are to someone, the more you will spend. Set limits, and stick to them –that way you can have some surprise funds to spend on yourself!
[L]ove Lists: Make you list, check it twice. Before you venture out, make a list of who you are buying for and have a rough idea of the gift(s) for each. That way, you won’t be distracted and end up making spur-of-the-moment buys. We bet grandma really doesn’t need another pair of knitting needles.
[M]ake a Theme: Group your gifts! Pick a theme for each person, and co-ordinate the various components of your gifts to match it. This makes it easier to come up with ideas and create a thoughtful, lavish gift. For example, buy your mom relaxation. This can include a kit packed with a cozy robe, PJs, scented candle, and an Elmwood Spa gift card.
How do you get through your holiday shopping? Is it cups of coffee? Bringing a friend? Make sure to check back next week when we share some gift tips for everyone on your list!
